J. Crew is an essential for individuals with a classic or preppy style, but sometimes their prices can be on the more expensive side, especially on a college student budget. I put together a list of how I save money when I shop at J. Crew.
1. Use the college student/teacher discount
J. Crew offers a 15% off discount for all college students and teachers. All you half to do is show your college or teacher ID at checkout at J. Crew stores and J. Crew factory stores. You can use this discount on regular and sale price items. This is my favorite way to save because it is an instant sale.
2. Subscribe to J. Crew and J. Crew Factory emails
Subscribing to emails is the best way to find out when sales are happening in store and online. J crew often has sales online for a certain percentage off your purchase. I often like to wait to make a purchase until these type of sales. I find that they happen on average once a month. Watching your email is the best way to watch for sales.
3. Be patient- almost everything goes on “sale markdown”
Almost everything will go on sale at J.Crew unless it is a hot item. The sale room is my favorite part of J. Crew stores. You can find some incredible deals. This is where they keep all the items that have been marked down. Often an extra discount is offered on top of the markdown.
4. Shop J. Crew Factory
J. Crew Factory often has very similar items to popular J. Crew store items. My favorites are the five strand pearl necklace and the classic school boy blazer. The five stand pearl necklace can be found at the J. Crew store here and discounted at factory here. I also like the factory keating boy blazer here which is very similar to the schoolboy blazer at the main J. Crew store here.
